Troy Teens Are Now On Facebook

Troy Public Library Teens now have their very own Facebook page! To check it out, go to facebook.com/troylibteens. We will be keeping you up to date on the latest events and the newest and most popular books, movies, and video games the Library's Teen Department has to offer.

Would you like a say in what gets posted on the page? Maybe you have read an awesome book you would like to recommend to other teens or you have a great idea for a new Library program? If so, email Teen Librarian Olivia Olson at O.Olson@troymi.gov with your recommendations and suggestions on how to make the Library's Teen Department even more awesome. If you would like, we will post the best comments on the Facebook page for all to see. Make sure to include your first name and your age if you want credit for your amazing ideas.

Curl Up with a New Book

the cutNow that the weather is cooler and the children are back in school, take time to relax with one of the new fall titles that have just arrived at the Troy Public Library. We have great new novels like The Leftovers by Tom Perotta, Blueprints for Building Better Girls by Elissa Schappell, Targets of Opportunity by Jeffrey Stephens, and Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward.

Hot new mysteries include Louise Penny's A Trick of the Light; The Cut by George Pelecanos; The Stranger You Seek by Amanda Kyle Williams; and Laura Lippman's newest, Every Secret Thing.

a dog's purposeCelebrate man's (and woman's) best friend by checking out the Troy Library's display featuring some of our many wonderful books, DVDs, and audiobooks featuring dogs. Whether it's James Herriot's Favorite Dog Stories, Michigan native John Grogan's Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst Dog, a classic Lassie DVD, or a mystery featuring a four-legged detective, we have something to help you while away the last muggy days of summer. 

Look for the display at the top of the ramp in Adult area, and Happy Dog Days!
