Troybery 2012

This Dark EndeavorTroybery 2012 is underway! All middle school students in the Troy School District can participate in this popular reading program. Students should register at their school and read a minimum of three selected titles. Readers then have the opportunity to vote for the winner in April.

Once again, the Troy Public Library is happy to be a partner in Troybery 2012. The Library has all the titles selected for the program. In order to make the books available to as many students as possible, individuals may check out only two Troybery titles at a time. Books are checked out for seven days and cannot be renewed.

If you have any questions or would like assistance placing holds for these Troybery 2012 books, please contact a Youth Services librarian at ysref@troymi.gov or 248.524.3541.

I think this is a great program for junior high kdis in Troy.  Why is it only availble for the Troy School District kdis.  My kdis are not in the Troy school district, but we live in Troy and pay taxes like everybody in Troy - not just those in the Troy School District. It would be nice and probably fairer is this program was offered to ALL Troy City junior high kids.

Dear Mr. Banet,

Troybery is a program conducted by the Troy Public Schools, which we at the Library support by purchasing multiple copies of the titles they choose because we know they will be in high demand by the students. Due to the popularity of the program, all of our copies of these titles are currently checked out, but if you have a Troy Public Library card, you are welcome to place any of the titles on hold to check them out.

For the duration of the Troy Public Schools' Troybery Program, we do limit the loan period of the ten titles in question to seven days, and limit each patron to having two Troybery titles on their library card at a time. However, you do not need to attend Troy Public Schools to place our copies on hold, or to check them out. Holds can be placed on titles through the online catalog, or we would be happy to place the requests for you over the phone or in person at any of our public services desk. I'm glad you find the titles interesting!
