75th Anniversary of Little House on the Prairie

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Laura Ingalls Wilder's classic Little House on the Prairie, the second, and most well-known, title in her popular series. The series centers around the Ingalls family as Wilder and her sisters are growing up. She gives an engaging view of American life in the times of the pioneers. 

Beyond the original series written by Wilder, additional stories have been written about different generations of the family by other authors. There are Little House books for all ages: the novels, easy chapter versions for children just starting to read chapter books, and even picture book adaptations. Check out the Troy Library's special display of Little House books today.
