Giving to the Library
The Troy Public Library is fortunate to receive many generous monetary donations from our patrons. We gladly accept such gifts. They will be used to purchase resources within the broad subject area and in the format identified by the donor, when available.
The Library also accepts donations of materials, with the understanding that they will be added to the collection if they meet the criteria used for the selection of materials purchased by the Library. The Library reserves the right to assign the gift to the appropriate collection, and to weed the items when appropriate, according to its Collection Development and Management Plan. Materials may also be donated to The Friends of the Troy Public Library, for sale in The Friends Book Shop.
A donor letter and an announcement letter, if applicable, will be mailed indicating the amount of the donation or material donated. You may wish to keep this letter for income tax purposes. Please discuss with your accountant the possible benefits of your donation to the Troy Public Library.
