Manage Your Library Account Via Email
Did you know that you can manage your Troy Public Library account via your email address?
Today, over 47% of the Library's patrons receive their hold notices, soon to be due items, and past due item notices via their email. As you can see, many of our patrons find it more convenient to receive important Library notifications this way.
And now, with our new Library catalog, there are even more benefits to using your email to manage your Library account. You can create searches of the catalog, save them, schedule them to run weekly or monthly, and have the results sent directly to your email address automatically. So if you're a mystery fanatic, or love the latest best seller, or have any subject that you follow regularly, we can show you how to set up searches that will put those results right to your email when you want them.
Of course you'll need an email account to take advantage of these great features. If you do not have email, we'd be happy to help you create one and show you how to use it. Visit the Library's Technology Center, which has 50 up-to-date computers and a knowledgeable staff ready to assist you.
If you decide to take advantage of this quick and easy way to manager your account, remember a few things:
• Make sure we have an accurate and updated email address, especially when you change your Internet Service Provider or create a new email account.
• Let us know that you want email as your preferred method of notification.
• Add circ@troymi.gov and troylibrarynotices@troymi.gov to your address book so your spam filter allows them through to your inbox.
Finally, in setting up our new Library catalog, we encountered a few glitches with email addresses. We apologize for any inconvenience. All those problems have been resolved. However, if you feel you were not properly notified about a due item or unfairly charge fines due to this situation please contact our Circulation Department at 248.524.3538, and let the staff know the items and dates in question. We will take care of making sure you are satisfied.
