Giving to the Library
The Troy Public Library is fortunate to receive many generous monetary donations from our patrons. We gladly accept such gifts. They will be used to purchase resources within the broad subject area and in the format identified by the donor, when available.
The Library also accepts donations of materials, with the understanding that they will be added to the collection if they meet the criteria used for the selection of materials purchased by the Library. The Library reserves the right to assign the gift to the appropriate collection, and to weed the items when appropriate, according to its Collection Development and Management Plan. Materials may also be donated to The Friends of the Troy Public Library, for sale in The Friends Book Shop.
A donor letter and an announcement letter, if applicable, will be mailed indicating the amount of the donation or material donated. You may wish to keep this letter for income tax purposes. Please discuss with your accountant the possible benefits of your donation to the Troy Public Library.

Outreach Brings Material to Homebound
Did you know that the Library has an Outreach program that delivers the latest in fiction and nonfiction books and magazines - many available in large type or in audio book - to Troy residents who are homebound or without transportation to the Library? We can also help you set up Talking Books by Mail service from the Oakland County Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
For more information, call Roger Russ, Outreach Coordinator, at 248.524.3554, or email russr@troymi.gov.
Curbside Drop Box Construction on Parking Lot Begins October 26
There is some exciting construction news about the Troy Public Library.
Beginning October 26, work will begin on installing curbside drop boxes for the Library. This project will be done in stages over the next several months. When completed next Summer, something that our patrons have been demanding for a while - the ease of returning your items without having to park and leave your car - will become a reality.
The first stage of this project will be to change the west Library parking lot to accommodate the new flow of traffic. This means that the west Library parking lot will be closed from Monday, October 26, through Wednesday, November 4. The entire, larger east Library parking lot will remain open.
We apologize, in advance, for this inconvenience, but we are pleased that we will finally be able to offer this highly demanded service to Library users.
